On Saturday, May 5, 2018 the Inaugural Flight of the new regular Chicago to Budapest service initiated by LOT Polish Airlines landed in Chicago. This was the kickoff of a new regular service directly linking the two cities and is scheduled initially to fly twice a week. Joining Hungarian Consul General, Dr. Zita Bencsik and LOT Airlines Chicago representative Magdalena Pantelis were various dignitaries from Poland, the City of Chicago, O’Hare Airport etc. Members of Chicago’s Hungarian community were also well represented. Etelka Tatar, of the Hungarian Newspaper; Andras Demeter, President of the Hungarian Club and Csaba Zongor, President of the Polish Hungarian World Federation were all there to usher in the new service.
