1956 Hungarian Revolution 60th Anniversary

On Sunday, October 23, 2016 Chicago's Hungarian Community was joined by the Polish Community in commemorating the 60th anniversary of the 1956 Hungarian Revolution. This special event was held at Copernicus Center of Chicago with about 800 people in attendance.
Since both the Hungarian and the Polish governments had designated 2016 as the Official Year of Polish Hungarian Brotherhood, it's truly fitting that Polish Leaders and Organizations participated in the commemorative program at such a great venue.

Just as Polish and Hungarian Brotherhood served to stabilize Europe for over 1000 years, the events related the Hungarian Revolution, once again, intertwined our mutual history. This Brotherhood, forged in steel and paid for with Blood continues to thrive and even grow stronger in the 21st Century.
Let us never forget that freedom never comes free. It is an ongoing struggle. We must commemorate all who sacrificed everything to insure our freedom and celebrate their deeds throughout all future generations.

The  "PolHuWF " is pleased to have been an organizing sponsor of this event.
