Polish Hungarian World Federation (PolHuWF) co-sponsored event
Coordinated by the "PolHuWF " in conjunction with the Consul General of Hungary, the Lincolnwood Chamber Orchestra and the Copernicus Center, this was the first in a series of events highlighting 2016 as the year of Polish Hungarian Brotherhood as well as the 60th anniversary of the Hungarian Revolution.
A very special tribute to Sir Georg Solti was held at the Copernicus Center on Sunday, April 3rd in the form of a memorial concert. This Gala Concert opened with an introduction by the new Consul General of Hungary in Chicago, Dr. Ferenc Szebenyi. It was the first in a series of various events, as the 60th anniversary of the Hungarian Revolution unfolded here in Chicago. The "PolHuWF " and Chicago's Hungarian Community hosted two other events including the main commemoration which was held on Sunday, October 23rd also here at the Copernicus Center.
We wishes to thank all the organizations, officials, media and individuals who worked together in order to make this concert a great success. In particular we emphasize the many Polish organizations who contributed a great deal and deserve our debt of gratitude.
