Orbáns’ resounding win as Prime Minister of Hungary

We congratulate Viktor Orbán on his decisive victory in the recent elections. Hungarian Prime Minister Viktor Orbán and FIDESZ won in a landslide victory in the general election. Voter turnout was 69% of which almost half went to Orbán. FIDESZ is expected to win a two-thirds majority in parliament which means that Orbán will serve a third consecutive term in office. Prime Minister Orbán has been outspoken in defending Hungary’s right to secure its’ own borders. It seems that Hungarian voters have given him the mandate he needed to continue his immigration policy and his support of Poland in the EU. In fact, just days before the election Viktor Orbán was joined by Polish Prime Minister Mateusz Morawiecki and Jaroslaw Kaczynski chiarman of Poland’s Law and Justice Party in Budapest to dedicate a memorial to Smolensk crash victims. The dedication of this special memorial in Budafok reinforced the current solidarity between Poland and Hungary. It also calls to mind the more than 1100 years of close cooperation of these two great nations which had served to keep Europe free and is the foundation of our organization “The Polish Hungarian World Federation.”
